Winner

Sans Soucis – Air youth music awards

Sans Soucis – Air

Abram Wilson Foundation (London)

Classically trained in Italy for most of her childhood, San Soucis moved to London aged 19 to study at the London Centre of Contemporary Music. San Soucis says, “My vocal arrangement is a prominent feature on the song, and it’s carefully layered with electronic synths inspired by electronic pop and house music from the 2010's. The song frames the times we’re living in, posing questions on how to reconnect and inspire people through art…while at the same time putting myself forward for a change that sees courage at the centre of my purpose.”

ELOI – Vertigo youth music awards

ELOI – Vertigo

Roundhouse (London)

Singer-songwriter, producer and instrumentalist ELOI immersed herself in music as an escape while growing up. Still stationed in her hometown London, she spends late nights making a bold blend of RnB, Pop, Alternative, Indie, and Trip Hop in her bedroom. For ELOI “Nothing is out of bounds as long as it tells the story”. Her song Vertigo was sonically inspired by Electro-Pop artists such as Sigrid and MØ.

Runner up

J4 – Bassline Sounds

Romsey Mill (East of England)

This song started by J4 hearing an eight-bar loop of a song Karl (music leader at Romsey Mill) was making and wanted to write a song to show off his ability. He does this by using various metaphors and word play and shows how he can manipulate words to show off his character and skills. J4 has also been shortlisted for the Music Video Award sponsored by YouTube.

Runner up

MissVocalz Youth music awards

Monique Miss Vocalz – Dose (Energy)

Beat Routes (South East)

Monique aka MissVocalz is a singer-songwriter from Slough. Monique says, "Dose (Energy) is basically about showing love and appreciation for whatever or whoever you feel gives you that life! I wrote the song during lockdown and battling with depression again, I needed to express my feelings in a way that didn't sound sad and melancholy. Turning a negative into a positive.”
