Panel Q&A exploring the educational and professional pathways open to musicians, and how to navigate these with a visual impairment.
Full description
We are excited to announce our next Monthly Meet-up and have something extra special lined up for this month! In collaboration with LOOK and Thomas Pocklington Trust Student Support Service, we will be hosting a panel of three very special guests:
- Bobby Goulder, who has built a career as a musician after graduating from a Music degree at Oxford University in 2015;
- Sarah Bayley, LOOK Mentor, recent Music graduate, and Sound Without Sight intern;
- and Fiona Waterspring, Student Support Services Advisor at TPT.
The panel will be exploring the educational and professional pathways open to musicians, and how to navigate these with a visual impairment.
The session will be taking place on Zoom on Thursday 18th July 2024, 7pm UK time – register below! Of course, everyone is welcome, but we believe this session would be particularly relevant to VI young adults interested in studying music at HE and considering a music career beyond education.
The aims of the session include:
- Sharing information, advice and guidance about studying Music at HE and developing a career.
- Sharing a range of relevant lived experiences and solutions for overcoming barriers.
- Addressing questions and concerns raised within LOOK Mentoring and from event registrations.
- Signposting to further resources and support services.
