Lil Trubz

Tracks on Tap, Youth Music NextGen Fund (London)

Lil Trubz is an artist in his own right, who experienced first hand how hard it can be to access opportunities in the early stages of a music career. In 2018, Lil Trubz set up Tracks on Tap which began as an online platform but quickly turned into a regular open mic night, creating a platform for underground artists to showcase their talents. He plays an important role in bringing artists to a new level of their career by providing the opportunity for them to perform live and has helped platform hundreds of artists.

Hope Lynes

NARC Magazine, NARC Academy (North East)

Since taking part in the NARC Academy programme, Hope was inspired to use what she had learned on the programme to make a difference. Before starting a master’s degree, she contacted their FM radio station and began to produce and present a radio show called Punk Princesses, platforming women in rock and heavy music in order to highlight the diversity within those genres. She continues to write for NARC Magazine, taking on the cover interview for the collective North East Women in Music. She is now gaining tech experience in programming and scheduling as well.

Yelena Lashimba

Yelena Lashimba

Reform Radio, Soundcamp (North West)

Yelena took part in Reform Radio’s Soundcamp project as an artist as well as specialising in the Sound Engineer modules, where she demonstrated a natural ear for the right sound. Since then, she has helped to engineer several sessions including an outside broadcast at Manchester Central Library. Her natural ability as a performer caught the attention of Reform Radio’s station manager when she applied to present their first ever morning live show. Yelena also led on a weekly feature that partnered directly with Youth Music to put the spotlight on other YM funded artists from across the UK.
