Winner

D.M.S. – Can’t Stop Drawing

Heart n Soul (London)

Danielle aka D.M.S (Dani Makes Songs)' latest video ‘Can’t Stop Drawing’ was made by her and her brother Matthew Green during lockdown. The video and lyrics convey Danielle’s love for art and ability to draw anywhere at any time. Danielle learnt the Makaton signs for her lyrics and performed them within the video, accompanying this with a hand-drawn Makaton lyric sheet so her audience can learn too. This was an important way of making her music accessible and engaging for more people.

J4 – Bassline Sounds

Romsey Mill (East of England)

Writing, recording and performing, J4 has a truly natural gift. Bassline Sounds was shot in Romsey Mill’s new vocal booth, as they were unable to film with a group of young people due to COVID-19. Shot in six takes, they created a silhouette effect, and used animated drawings which were inspired by a Ghetts video. J4 has also been shortlisted for the Original Track Award (Solo) sponsored by TikTok.

Runner up
